I know a couple of my secondary schoolmates who are currently in a relationship. For different couples there are various ways to announce their new status to the world. More often in school is that you hear of who-and-who are attached, their Twitter's profiles are edited in with their partner's name, or even the date of their courtship is stated there too. Pictures of the couple appears on social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, etc.As time pass and you somewhat acknowledge the fact that the schoolmates you once know are really dating. And you, remains single.
If you are curious, I do not have a boyfriend. I am in a promise with God to uphold my purity, to allow myself to stay focus in my studies and to make many friends for two years. There are many temptations in life, greed and lust are common in our fleshy human lives. A quote remembered in my heart is "Others can, I can't". Relationship is not about a good or bad thing because it is about connections with people. Hence, I am happy for any couples and I rejoice for their happiness. So don't get me wrong, I am not against anyone.
Are you a fan of Korean Variety Shows and Korean Drama? I guess majority of the friends and people around me are. I watched 'Music & Lyrics' last year and it featured 2PM's Jun Ho and female actress Kim So Eun. Who are they? Jun Ho is a member of Korean Kpop Group named 2PM while Kim So Eun acted in many dramas and one of which you definitely heard of is 'Boys Over Flowers'. The show highlighted Jun Ho's well manners displayed towards Kim So Eun and it deeply left a great impression of him in my mind.
ALLKPOP reported that " When walking together, Jun Ho paid special attention to So Eun and led her with his hand behind her, while also always remembering to open the door for her, and covering her with his umbrella when it began to rain. During the company dinner, the staff members pressured the two into taking a ‘love shot’. But seeing So Eun’s full glass of beer, Jun Ho remarked that it may be too much for her to drink, and quickly switched her glass with his own." Furthermore, I was particularly stunned during one of the episode which showed the couple driving and suddenly the car in front of them made a sudden stop, at that instance, Jun Ho immediately stretched out his right arm across So Eun to protect her from moving forward.
His gesture was so thoughtful and was so unexpected from that surprising incident.
G-Dragon also impressed me with his unique manners as he commented in a show that to him " It’s just natural. When you go eat, there are places where you have to take your shoes off. Then when we come out, of course I put her shoes on for her and tie the laces." In addition, Big Bang's Daesung revealed that G-Dragon is a amazing boyfriend to his girlfriend because" When they eat, when his girlfriend looks like she’s finished eating, he disappears and appears again with water and a napkin for her. He takes care of all the details.”
The above are just two gentlemen's examples I listed. I am sure there are many examples you heard of or even seen in real life. Carrying on the topic, beside mannerism, you should look out on his character.
Iron sharpens iron, it will be best if he is a person of personal growth. He is interested in learning, maturing and self-development. His positivity will influence you and both of you will see a healthy progress in your relationship in many areas. Also, confidence is a must-have for any guy. If he cannot acknowledge you as his girlfriend in front of his family members or friends, I suggest you to re-consider about even letting him date you. Dating in the dark is the least option any ladies should take. A quote I used frequently when someone make a promise to me is "your word is your bond". Do not expect others to fulfill their promises to you when you cannot do so, likewise even giving your word to them. Hence, think twice or thrice before wanting to uphold a promise towards anyone. I am sure that honesty is something we always look for in anybody.
Well, for now that is all I can share about on what I look in for a boyfriend.
A boyfriend is different from a husband. Thus I encourage all ladies and even guys to remain pure and not engaged in any pre-martial sex. Ladies, have the courage to reject the guys you feel that do not deserve you. If he appreciate who you are and likes you deeply, he will definitely wait for you. There is no need to rush, just trust in God for His timing and plans. Above all, these are my opinions and thoughts.
