Believe in yourself

I learnt that the very first step to success is believing in yourself, having the confidence that you can do it, then you will take taking responsibility for it and reach for the stars. We all have self-esteem and self-efficacy, whether it is high, medium or low, we are still able to make improvement to them.

What is self-esteem:
Self-esteem: Extent to which you respect, like and are satisfied with yourself

Self-efficacy: Belief about chances of successfully accomplishing a task

A person can have high self-esteem does not mean he or she will  also have high self-efficacy.
In some cases, there are people with high self-esteem but also low self-efficacy in their work.

Typical of someone with low self-efficacy:
- low aspiration
- not committed to work
- avoids challenging works
-gets easily discouraged
-blames luck for setbacks

Do you have them?

What is attitude?
Attitude is a relatively cluster of beliefs, feelings, intentions towards a specific object
The object can be own-self, people, things, concepts or even events.

Positive beliefs,feelings,intentions = Positive Attitude

on the other hand

Negative  beliefs,feelings,intentions = Negative Attitude

I hope that everyone of us can achieve a positive attitude. We are strong people in this tough, broken-down world. So how can we improve our low self-efficacy?

Our self-efficacy can be improved through positive:
Prior Experience
Behaviour Models
Persuasion from Others
Assessment of Physical/Emotional State

Just because you believe you can accomplish a task doesn't mean that you necessarily will but if you don't believe you can, you almost certainly will not.

I have a poster in my room which writes 'Now is the time to start believing, Dare to Dream'. It reminds me whenever I wake up that each day is a new beginning. Yesterday might not have been great, but I can choose to make today awesome.
